Just the tips

What will you need?

Camping

  • Tent
  • Sleeping bag
  • Sleeping pad/mat
  • Pillow
  • Camping chair (advisable to be guaranteed a chair around the fire)
  • Waterproofs. If the weather forecast looks fine, leave them at home but its always better to be safe than sorry
  • Bring a torch to find your way back to your tent. I will try get some lighting down there but it's always handy to have a torch or headtorch
  • Comfy shoes
  • Make life easier by partnering with those who have a bigger tent. That way you can share the burden. Many hands and all that
  • They are the basics but I'm sure you know how to camp by now

Drink & Food

A hog roast will be put on for the party but you might want a few extras over the course of the weekend...

  • Booze (imagine running out in the middle of nowhere)
  • Water (bring a few bottles, especially for the morning after)
  • Snacks to keep you going
  • If you can bring ice, it is always welcome to keep the drinks cool

Anything else?

  • If you can bring any wood, it is always appreciated. We go through a lot for the fire, so any extra wood you can bring (or are throwing away between now and the party) that can be added to the pile is a huge help.
  • If you want to bring your own BBQ, food, games or whatever your heart desires - feel free to do it!  Its a safe space to do what you want, so go with your instincts and bring what you want, as long as that instinct is not a child or an animal.
  • People will be swimming in the sea over the weekend. Be sure to bring your speedos or swimsuit if you want to brave the water. If the tide is out wear shoes to avoid the weaver fish barbs. Shrimping equipment is available too, if you feel so inclined.
  • If you want to bring some golf balls to smack off the cliff, feel free to do so (some old clubs are already up there). Not that I condone the littering of our precious oceans... but they usually wash up down the beach at Fraisthorpe and taken by the kids at the caravan parks. It's the circle of life.

Safety Disclaimer

Just be careful on the cliff...and the fire. Don't die. This is a legally binding disclaimer. I think.

Are there any rules?

If you kick the football off the cliff, you have to get it. Thems the rules.

Please respect the neighbours regardless of how batshit they are. They have been known to make our lives hard in the event we overstep onto their plots. We don't need the police coming again.

Are you bored of reading yet? Its a lot for an invite isn't it. Well here's a picture of a pair of testicles smoking a cigarette to break it up a little bit. Look how happy he is.

Is there anything else to do whilst we are up the coast?

Yes, there is plenty to do and you are welcome to stay longer on the Sunday and go down to the beach. If you fancy heading into Hornsea or Bridlington there are plenty of things to do there too.

There is also a golf course next door to us at Far Grange that is good fun.
